The Cascade River Park completed an extensive water system improvement. The membership approved a $106,400 three phase project commencing summer 1999 and finished summer 2002. The benefits include:
| New 55,000 gallon capacity cement water tank | |
| Increase storage capacity to 80,000 gallons from 35,000 gallons | |
| Allows at least 30 new permanent cabins | |
| Water pressure is at least 30 PSI in all areas | |
| Dedicated supply mains |
The first phase of development constructed a new 55,000 gallon cement water tank located near an existing steel tank at the northeast corner of the park. Land use approval for the tank was received from Skagit County in May 1998, and the tank construction was completed the Fall of 1999.
In phase 2 water main additions and upgrades, plus installation of pressure reducing stations were added in the summer of 2000.
The final Phase 3 covered installation of pressure boost equipment to serve lots near the cement tank in summer, 2002.
Based on the Park's Water System Plan, the Dept. of Health authorized the Park to purvey water permits for 8 cabins during the construction period and another 22 cabins upon completion of the improvements.
